It would be hard to find a better baby shower gift than this Colorful Caterpillar Toy. This easy crochet pattern is great for any expectant mother, including yourself! Babies will love snuggling with this over-sized toy. Rainbow colors make this perfect for boys and girls, but feel free to use blue and white yarn if it's for a boy, or pink and white for a girl.


Crochet Hook: L/11 or 8 mm hook
Yarn Weight: (6) Super Bulky/Super Chunky (4-11 stitches for 4 inches)
MATERIALS
  • Bernat® Happy or any other super bulky weight yarn in a range of colors (100g / 3.5 oz, 97 meters / 106 yards)
    Color (MC)  Summer Sky or Blue Belles 1 ball
    Contrast A Robin's Egg 1 ball
    Contrast B Lily Pad 1 ball
    Contrast C  Sweet Peas 1 ball
    Contrast D Rosebud 1 ball
    Contrast E Daisy 1 ball
    Contrast F Freesia 1 ball
  • Size 8 mm (U.S. L or 11) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.
  • Stuffing. 2 yds [180 cm] of white smooth worsted weight yarn for sewing. Sew on googly eyes.
NOTE: The colors of yarn pictured are made of Bernat Tizzy yarn, which was recalled because of unraveling. We have suggested another super bulky weight yarn for your use and safety.

MEASUREMENT
Approx 16" [40.5 cm] around x 36" [91.5 cm] long.

Weave white smooth yarn through each color changing rnd and tie tightly to define sections of Caterpillar as shown in picture. Fasten securely. Sew buttons for eyes.
